We are a group of Calgarians with a shared interest in Robert Burns and Scottish culture.

The genesis of the Calgary Burns Club, was a Burns Supper in 1964 held in the home of John and Lilian Patterson. This initiated a series of Burns Suppers hosted in turn by other Calgary Scots.

In 1975, a group of members formed the Calgary Burns Club and named Grant MacEwan its patron. It became accredited by the Robert Burns World Federation in 1976. Although a supper was held in 1976, after receiving its charter, the Founders chose to call the dinner held on January 25, 1977, the Inaugural Supper. ย The Club has been holding suppers ever since.

The Calgary Burns Club holds the memory of Robert Burns and the fellowship arising out of that memory to be one of the most important aspects of being Scottish Calgarians. The Calgary Burns Club fosters an interest in Scottish literature, art and music by sharing its talents with the community and through support of events involving Scottish cultural activities.
